Karene Lyngholm is a choreographer, dancer, teacher and producer, currently residing in Oslo, Norway. She studied at the State Ballet Academy in Oslo, the Royal Academy of Dancing in London and worked in Paris with Eric Senen and Peter Goss. She has danced in Norway, Denmark and Paris and taught for many schools in Norway, including the State Ballet Academy in Oslo.
Ms. Lyngholm has choreographed extensively in Norway and abroad — including creating Trilogie Instantanee at Menagerie de Verre, Paris and Imidlertid at Centre Culturel Français, Copenhagen. A highlight of her career came in 1994 when she co-choreographed the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer. In 2000 she choreographed the critically acclaimed Twilight World for the Ziggurat Theatre Ensemble.
For the last five years she produced the Nobel Peace Prize Committee School Performance, an official event for Nobel Peace Prize Committee. Ms. Lyngholm also currently produces the Norwegian Grammy Awards show and has done so since 1998. In addition, she works as producer and choreographic consultant for several dance companies in Norway.
She has received the State of Norway’s 3-year work grant for artists and is a member of the International School of Theatre Anthropology.
